In my last post, I
listed my training volume for last year. I remembered a German triathlon book I
bought almost exactly 13 years ago. The author, Ole Petersen, listed his
training volume in his first eight years of triathlon training, starting from
doing little sports before and leading to several Ironman finishes as well as
Double-Ironman, Triple-Ironman, and Ultraman races which involve multiples
of the Ironman distance in one race. In his journey, the author set a German
record for the Double-Ironman distance. The name of the book is: "Ironman
– The 8-hours triathlon program", in which the author provides a 2-year Ironman
training plan which on average involves only 8 hours of training per week. I thought
it might be interesting for some of you to know the training volume he did. I
listed this in the following table and compared it to my training in 2012.
