سباق تتابع مختلط - Mixed Relays

تضم سباقات الترياثلون منذ مدة ليست بطويلة سباقاً شيّقاً من نوع آخر وهو سباق تتابع مختلط. تتنافس في هذا السباق فرق كل منهم مكون من رجلين وإمرأتين. يبدأ السباق بإمرأة تسبح ٣٠٠ م وتركب الدراجة ٦,٦ كم ثم تعدوا ١,٦ كم وينطلق بعد وصولها رجل ليعيد نفس المسافات تتبعه إمرأة ثانية ليختم السباق الرجل الثاني، كل منهم يخوض نفس المراحل والمسافات. ويدوم السباق لمدة تقارب الساعة والنصف حسب المسار.

ونظراً لقصر المسافات واختلاف القدرات فإن السباق سريع جداً تتغير في الوجوه بسرعة، وامكانية تغير من يقود السباق موجودة في كل لحظة مما يجعل السباق شيّق المشاهدة.

  

أول فريق عربي شارك في سباقٍ كهذا أقامه إتحاد الترياثلون الدولي مؤخراً هو فريق من الكويت والذي شارك في سباق الألعاب الآسيوية في إنشيون في شهر سبتمبر الماضي. و ضم الفريق الرياضيَين علي الرخيص وجعفر العلي والرياضيتين نجلاء الجريوي و ندى الجريوي.

ومن المتوقع أن تشهد رياضة الترياثلون مشاركة من دول عربية أخرى في المستقبل حيث انها تنموا نمواً سريعاً في المنطقة.

Triathlon races have recently seen the creation of a new, exciting format, the mixed relay. Team of 2 male and 2 female triathletes compete in this format. The race starts by a female athlete swimming 300m, cycling 6.6km and running 1.6km. A male athlete follows going through the same legs and distances. Then a second woman follows, and finally a second man completes the race that lasts in total for about one and a half hours.

Due to the short distances, the frequent change of athletes, and the possibility of fast changes at the lead, this format is exciting to watch.

Recently, a first ever Arab team participated in such a race organized by the ITU (International Triathlon Union), which took place in September at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. The team consisted of the 2 male triathletes Ali Al Rekhayyis and Jafar Al Ali; and the 2 female triathletes Najlaa Aljeraiwi and Nada Aljeraiwi.

It is to be expected that the sport of triathlon will witness increased participation of Arab teams in the future considering the speed at which this sport is growing in the region.
