A day with Lawrence of Arabia يوم مع لورنس العرب

امضيت بالامس يوما رائعا مع بطل الترياثلون العربي لورنس العرب في مكان سكنه بمدينة لافبروا في انكلترا وفي سكن العائلة بمدينة نوتينجهام وتشرفنا بكرم ضيافتهم. وصلت انا وابنتي بالقطار قادمين من لندن الى لافبروا في الواحدة بعد الظهر حيث استقبلنا لورنس عند محطة القطار. فركبنا السيارة وارانا المدينة ومسبح الجامعة الذي يذهب اليه يوميا للتدريب والذي طوله ٥٠ متر. كما ذهبنا الى قاعة فيها مسار للجري داخلي طوله ١٠٠ متر. ومن بعد ذلك ذهبنا الى شقة لورنس حيث رأيت دراجته الجديدة من ماركة مودا البريطانية وتحدثنا عن مواضيع عديدة سوف انشرها ملحقا. ثم ركبنا السيارة من جديد لنذهب الى سكن ومزرعة العائلة في نوتنجهام فقابلنا والد لورنس الشيّق جداً وجلسنا نتحدث عن مواضيع عديدة متعلقة بالترياثلون وشربنا قهوة عربية عملها لورنس. سبب ذهابي لزيارة لورنس (او حجتي اذا اردتم) هي دراجته التي اشتريتها منه. فبعد توقيع لورنس على الدراجة بدأ بوضعها في صندوق لنقلها بالطائرة بينما ذهبت انا وابنتي مع الوالد لنرى المزرعة والحيوانات وهي مزرعة كبيرة في منطقة جميلة جدا. بعد رجوعنا الى بيتهم دعانا ابو لورنس الى العشاء في مطعم في نوتنجهام ذهبنا بعده الى المحطة مباشرة لنركب القطار في الساعة التاسعة مساءً عائدين الى لندن. كان ذلك يوم ممتع جدا احسست به من اول لحظة وكانني اقابل اصدقاء اعرفهم لمدة طويلة. تابعوا هذه المدونة لتشاهدون فيديو مقابلتي الشيّقة مع لورنس التي سانشرها مقسمة الى عدة اجزاء عن قريب ان شاء الله.

Yesterday, I spent an exciting day with Triathlon pro Lawrence of Arabia in Loughborough where he lives and at the family's farm in Nottingham following their kind invitation. My daughter and I arrived at 1pm in Loughborough coming by train from London. Lawrence met us at the train station and showed us around with his car. We went to the University's swimming pool where he spends a couple of hours training every day. He also showed us the 100m indoor running track where he used to train in the past. We stopped at his flat where I saw his nice new MODA road bike and a MODA time trial bike that he is using starting to train with. After talking for a while we left to the family's farm in Nottingham where we met Lawence's father and very enjoyable conversations, drinking Arabic coffee that Lawrence made us. The reason for my visit to Lawrence (or rather my excuse) was his bike that I bought as I had previously reported. After autographing it, Lawrence stayed to pack it in a box, ready for make to take it on a plane, while his father showed me and my daughter the farm and animals. It is a nice big farm in a very beautiful area. After returning to the house, we left to a restaurant in Nottingham to which we were very kindly invited by Lawrence's father. At 9 pm my daughter and I had to board the train back to London. It was an exciting day and I met great and welcoming people I felt I had known for ages.
